The annual event, which recognises the achievements of those involved in the specification, design, construction and management of BREEAM certified buildings, has drawn its contenders from the highest scoring projects under BREEAM. Highwood has been shortlisted for North Stoneham Park: Phase 1 in the Homes – Post Construction Stage category, an accolade that Highwood’s board is justifiably proud of.
‘Recognition by BREEAM is a glowing commendation indeed,’ commented Nigel Meek, a founding director at Highwood. ‘Our philosophy to acquire land selectively and build sensitively and sustainably is a commitment we’ve remained faithful to for over 30 years. Our land and construction partners and residents of Highwood homes and communities have long appreciated our ability to create sustainable environments that enhance the well-being of those who live and work in them and know we work hard to protect our natural resources and sensitive habitats. Nowhere is this more evident than at North Stoneham Park; our shortlisting by such a coveted authority is indeed a powerful endorsement of our obligation to achieving longlasting environmental, social and economic sustainability.’
BREEAM is a trusted mark of sustainability and serves as the world’s leading sustainability assessment method when it comes to masterplanning projects, infrastructure and buildings. BREEAM rating and certification empowers those in the property industry who commission, design, construct and manage buildings, infrastructure and community and who are playing an active role in creating sustainable real estate around the world.
The BREEAM Awards ceremony will take place at London’s Hilton Bankside on 4thMarch – a fitting start to the week of Futurebuild 2019 – an exhibition that highlights the latest innovations, products and materials that will help overcome the challenges impacting our built environment.
