Highwood donates £10,000 to Trinity Winchester to support the homeless
Highwood has presented a cheque for £10,000 to its newly adopted charity, Trinity Winchester, which works tirelessly to support the vulnerable and homeless in Winchester.
The donation represents a valuable contribution to the charity’s ‘Under One Roof’ project to build 11 high-quality flatlets and provide safe, secure homes with full access to Trinity Winchester’s services for those in need. The new self-contained homes will be housed in an eco-friendly development behind Trinity’s existing daycentre on the edge of the Winnall Moors Nature Reserve. Within this peaceful environment, trained project workers and in-house healthcare specialists will deliver a range of activities, therapies, education and treatment.
‘Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation to Trinity Winchester,’ said Sharnna Carter, Trinity’s Fundraising and Events Manager. ‘We are completely blown away by your generosity and cannot thank you enough. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers and, most importantly, the clients of Trinity for your generosity, thank you.’
The Trinity Centre was founded in 1986 as a drop-in centre to provide advice and support to socially deprived people in Winchester – it currently provides essential practical and emotional support to over 600 people each year. Jess Watts-Forte, Human Resources Manager at Highwood, visited the Centre earlier in 2020 and knew this would be a cause that Highwood would be keen to support.
