Students who have recently completed their placements shared positive feedback about their experiences.
George, a T Level Design, Surveying and Planning student, said: “Everyone at Highwood is very friendly and I feel that they really care about my future. They have made me feel part of the team and given me a real sense of what it’s like to work at a good construction company.”
Reece, a T Level Finance student, added: “I learnt so much during my placement. I was given the chance to work on a variety of tasks, which was enjoyable. I liked experiencing what it’s like to work in an office, and everyone was really welcoming.”
These positive experiences highlight the value of work placements that combine professional learning with genuine inclusion and mentorship – and are qualities that are at the heart of Highwood’s approach to early careers support.
Highwood is particularly proud to collaborate with SHCG – the ambitious educational group formed in 2023 following the merger of Eastleigh College, Fareham College and City College Southampton – to broaden opportunities for the region’s students.
