Local cricket club bowled over by donation from Highwood
Highwood has donated £5,000 to Ampfield and North Baddesley Community Cricket Club (ANBCC) from its Highwood Community Fund. The initiative, which designates £5,000 for every project to a community scheme that’s local to each site.
This donation was made as Highwood’s new, state-of-the-art retirement community in Ampfield, near Chandlers Ford, nears completion. The prestigious project, that includes a superb village centre and 159 luxury apartments for the over 65s, is being delivered for award-winning retirement communities’ operator, Inspired Villages.
The donation will support the Club’s ambitious plans for its future, as Michael Williams, Club Secretary, confirmed.
“The generous Highwood donation will help us continue our upward trajectory and greatly assist us in the next phase of our development. This will be the introduction of an electronic scoreboard and the building of a double lane, fully enclosed, artificial flat surface outdoor net. On completion, the net will represent a significant advantage for training and coaching our junior members as it will ensure, even in inclement weather, our colts as well as our adults can practice.
“We are inspired by your commitment to making a positive change in our community and to cricket and your generosity demonstrates your belief in our ambitions to bring cricket to the youth of the area.”
