Much-needed affordable units for our community

In doing so, the project will represent a valuable contribution towards meeting the region’s housing need, as Highwood’s Business Development Director, Phil Prosser, explains.

‘We received detailed consent in August,’ says Phil. ‘We’re now delighted to have simultaneously completed on a contract to build an additional 65 units at the Park for our valued partners, Eastleigh Borough Council (Aspect) and VIVID Homes. The scheme will see Highwood deliver 42 private rental units for Aspect and 23 much-needed affordable units for VIVID Homes, of which 15 will be provided as Affordable Rent and the remaining eight as Shared Ownership properties.’

Highwood collaborated closely with ELAC’s planning officers to create a scheme that would remain sensitive to the former deer park’s existing community, landscaping and ecological features. Indeed, the setting of the new site and its green courtyard layout, established hedgerows and woodland borders will undoubtedly enhance the appeal of the wider North Stoneham Park development.

Construction on Phase 9 has now commenced and the first units have been targeted for handover to Highwood’s partners in summer 2021.
