Highwood is constructing a new 57-bed care home for leading UK care provider Barchester Healthcare on land adjoining Crownfields, Odiham, near Hook in Hampshire. The two-storey development occupies a 2.19-acre site on the northern edge of Odiham, close to the High Street and just north of RAF Odiham.
The new care home will offer a mix of residential and specialist dementia care, with 21 dedicated ‘Memory Lane’ bedrooms and a deluxe twin suite among its accommodation. Designed for comfort, safety and independence, the completed home will feature elegant communal lounges, a café, a number of dining rooms and a cinema for residents to enjoy film screenings and social events. Each floor will include a spa bathroom to enhance wellbeing and relaxation.
Residents will also benefit from a daily schedule of live and virtual activities tailored to individual interests, supporting Barchester Healthcare’s ethos of promoting dignity, choice and engagement in a warm, community-led environment.
The new Odiham care home represents an important addition to the area’s provision of high-quality care accommodation. Construction began in August 2024 and is scheduled for completion in March 2026, with the home due to open in summer 2026.
