A new 70-bed care home for award-winning care home developer, Hamberley Developments

Highwood has delivered a three-storey, 70-bed care home for Hamberley Developments that has been leased to leading care operator, Care UK.

Dashwood Manor Care Home forms part of the wider Island Site development that was given the green light for development by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council in 2018 after a lengthy planning process. Plans for the Island Site include retirement apartments, a public house as well as a potential dental surgery and specialist brain injury unit serving to serve the new community around Beggarwood on the outskirts of Basingstoke in Hampshire.

Stunning residential suites and communal areas

The wider Island Site scheme centres on the luxurious care home that Highwood has delivered to award-winning care home developer, Hamberley Development, the founder of respected care company, Gracewell Healthcare. This luxurious nursing home provides accommodation for residents who typically require continuous nursing care, often 24 hours a day.

The scheme includes stunning residential suites, extensive communal areas and beautifully landscaped grounds. Highwood collaborated closely with all teams involved in the detailed development of the design in accordance with a tight design brief and a full interior design package. Much of the construction programme was completed during the Covid pandemic when challenging safety measures and working restrictions were in place.

Dashwood Manor Care Home was handed over to Hamberley Developments early in 2021 with first residents taking occupation shortly afterwards.
