Highwood’s Old Mansion House site at North Stoneham Park shortlisted for planning award
Highwood’s proposals for redevelopment of the Old Mansion House site at North Stoneham Park have been recognised by national planning awards judges with a shortlisting for HGP Architects in the Award for Best Housing Scheme (Fewer than 500 Homes) at the Planning Awards 2020.
The COVID-19 pandemic had forced organisers to postpone the annual event, which will now take place on 24th September at The Mermaid London, coronavirus restrictions permitting.
Reinvigorating the heritage of the site
In the meantime, both HGP Architects and Highwood are delighted the judging panel has held the proposed Old Mansion House scheme at North Stoneham Park in such high regard – its feedback stated:
‘The Old Mansion Site has been designed with lifestyle in mind, creating homes with a sense of belonging and community, where residents can remain active and enjoy an exclusive, clean living environment. The proposal successfully achieves this by reinvigorating the heritage of the site and provides a coherence and language to the key spaces.’
An award-winning run of industry accolades
They add: ‘Practical aspects of residential design: access, turning heads, servicing have been well considered and integrated into the layout in such a way that they are hidden within the network so that emphasis is made on sense of place, arrival experience and character, positively contributing to the area.’
It’s now hoped the Planning Awards 2020 will proceed as planned and that the Old Mansion House scheme will be added to North Stoneham Park’s award-winning run of industry accolades.
