Simon Beech, Land and Sales Director at Highwood, took to the gruelling cross country terrain to compete in the annual Hursley 10K event. Despite being held in some of the muddiest conditions ever experienced by the organisers, Simon’s training and positive mental attitude held firm and he finished the race in a very impressive 56 minutes.

Buoyed by his performance, he made a last minute entry into the Great South Run, the UK’s fastest, flattest and most popular 10-mile event. Simon ran the course in 1 hour 33 minutes, a remarkable result for a debut performance over this distance.

It seems he’s not stopping there either – with his feet set on competing in a longer and tougher race, Simon is now focusing his training on the Gosport Half Marathon this November. Surely it can only be a matter of time before the epic marathon distance calls…
