Westergate extra care development scoops Highwood Health & Safety Award
The site management team at Highwood’s extra care development in Westergate, West Sussex, has scooped our annual Health and Safety Award having consistently achieved high scores across every aspect of its on-site operations. Despite the challenges of operating and managing projects during a global pandemic, all Highwood project teams remain fully focussed on all areas of health and safety to ensure every site remains a secure and safe place to work.
‘It gives me a great sense of pride to announce the Westergate team has won this year’s Health and Safety award’, explained Guy Hayward, Managing Director of Highwood. ‘With Graham Marshall, our Westergate Project Manager, providing excellent leadership and implementation of the right safety culture, it wasn’t surprising the project delivered consistent health and safety audit scores above the industry norm.
‘Other members of the team worthy of praise and who have been instrumental in maintaining these high standards include Matt Hess, who has worked well under Graham’s mentorship, Jamie Callaghan and Terry Lewis. I would also wish to thank our Health and Safety Manager, Terry Oliver, who has tirelessly provided support to Highwood’s directors during the lockdown period and ensured implementation of the right policies and procedures on site has been carried out.’
