Old Mansion Site, a development of 63 new homes on an impressive site in South Stoneham, has won Residential Development of the Year at the South Coast Property Awards 2022.
The site, which lies under the jurisdiction of Test Valley Borough Council, was secured and developed to planning consent by Highwood. Its design pays homage to Herbert Collins, an architect who had a significant impact on many homes in and around Southampton, which were constructed in the early 20th century. The design of the Old Mansion Site endeavoured to take the very best from this design brief, incorporating layouts and function that meet modern housing needs and environmental sustainability.
Following planning, VIVID acquired the site and is working with Highwood to develop the site.
VIVID Chief Executive, Mark Perry, said, ‘I am really pleased to continue our partnership with Highwood and to be able to bring this high quality, affordable-led development to fruition’.
‘Naturally we’re thrilled that the Old Mansion Site project has won this top award,’ said Mark Baskerville, Highwood’s Chief Executive Officer. ‘We’re also very proud to be working with our development partner, VIVID, to deliver what is now another award-winning residential housing project for our local community.’
The Old Mansion Site project has already achieved critical success afternational planning awards judges praised HGP Architects’ design and shortlisted the development in Best Housing Scheme (Fewer than 500 Homes) category at the Planning Awards 2020.
