Highwood’s donation to Romsey Foodbank supports families during lockdown
We’re very pleased to have given a welcome boost to families living in Romsey who have experienced particular hardship since the start of the coronavirus lockdown. We donated over £1000 in Sainsbury’s vouchers to Romsey Foodbank who worked with local schools to identify families who would most benefit from support during the lockdown and summer holidays.
‘We’re so grateful to Highwood,’ commented Jo Topley, Romsey Foodbank Manager. ‘We’ve bought lots of games, colouring packs and other gifts and have been giving them out as care packages to local schools and to families as they come and visit us for food over the summer holidays.’
Highwood has been a key supporter of Romsey Foodbank for several years – its branches at North Baddesley and Romsey are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks that are supported by The Trussell Trust, which works to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
