Highwood secures reserved matters consent for Horndean retirement community
Highwood has secured reserved matters planning permission for an integrated retirement community (IRC) we will build for Inspired Villages (IVG) on land that borders the South Downs National Park at Horndean.
The new scheme will deliver 120 apartments and chalet-style bungalows designed to meet the changing needs of its retirement-age residents and address the countrywide shortfall of age-appropriate housing. The new homes sit adjacent to a prestigious 60-bed care home that Highwood is building for leading care partner, Barchester Healthcare. Phase One of the construction of this best-in-class care home is already underway with completion scheduled for summer 2023.
‘We’re delighted that reserved maters have been approved,’ commented Phil Prosser, Business Development Director at Highwood. ‘Our partnership with Inspired Villages has seen us work extremely hard in pulling together an exemplary scheme. The Horndean retirement community will provide quality, purpose-built accommodation for retirees in a beautiful setting on the edge of the South Downs National Park.’
