‘The school was incredibly grateful for the computers and we know they’ll make a huge difference to the children. We’d really like to push the message home to other businesses who might have computers, laptops and tablets that they no longer need and which could go to a really worthwhile cause.
‘The Department for Education has a series of initiatives that are designed to help plug the gap, but the allocations are small and primary schools aren’t first in line to receive them.’
Highwood has also given laptops to staff members to help home-school their own children and, thanks to another donation, the elderly mother of one of the team has now learnt to shop online too.
If you have any internet-ready devices that you’d be happy to recycle and give a child a chance to get on top of their learning during lockdown, please get in touch with your local primary school. We know they’re likely to welcome any donations with open arms.
