Highwood has achieved the enviable title of ‘One of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in the South-East’ by Best Companies, the organisation that inspires, measures and recognises workplace engagement. We were delighted to be listed 89th in this highly competitive category.
To add to our pride, Highwood also scored fourth highest in the Best Companies Index score to become ‘One of Property’s 5 Best Companies to Work For in 2021’. In a year that has seen huge pressure on the UK’s workforce, this ranking is indeed, as Best Companies Founder and CEO, Jonathan Austin says, ‘an incredible achievement, especially in these most challenging of times.’
Every year, the ‘Best Companies to Work For’ lists recognise the very best in workplace engagement across UK regions and key market sectors. Best Companies accreditation is based on insights and feedback from confidential employee surveys conducted by organisations who are committed to valuing their people and measuring how engaged they feel.
Being celebrated as a top performer in our sector with a ranking on these lists helps organisations like us continue to attract new talent and differentiate us as an organisation that places considerable emphasis on our workplace wellbeing and engagement strategy.
‘We know that when our teams are fully engaged, they’re more motivated,’ explains Steve Matthews, Managing Director of Highwood. ‘It also gives our teams a sense of pride in their work and ensures we can all benefit from the successes and achievements we reap together.
‘But more than that, it’s about creating a happier, more productive workplace and building strong working relationships. Our teams know they can talk openly about everything from their wellbeing and mental health to how they feel about their role and what they want to achieve from it so we can help make it happen. We’ve created an environment that works for us – it’s enabled us to attract and retain incredible talent and nurture it so we can all thrive. Our teams are without doubt behind the Highwood success story.’

As part of this recognition by Best Companies, Highwood was invited to a virtual celebration event when listing positions were announced and which was hosted by TV and sports presenter, Dan Walker.
