SSE Green certification is an initiative focussed on encouraging organisations to demonstrate their sustainability credentials and commitment to using renewable energy. Highwood has been recognised for using the SSE Green tariff for the energy supply at The Cart Barn, the second building on the site of Highwood’s bespoke office development in Romsey.
‘We’re delighted to have achieved SSE Green certification,’ commented Guy Hayward, Managing Director of Highwood. ‘As an organisation, we’re committed to building sustainably and sensitively so, naturally, it makes sense for us all to apply the use of renewable energy to our own working practices for the benefit of the environment and the future generations who will depend on it.’
SSE Green is designed to help industrial and commercial organisations with their greenhouse gas reporting with all electricity supplied holding a zero emission rating. 100% of SSE Green electricity is backed by Renewable Electricity Guarantee of Origins (REGOs) and consumption used is matched by an equivalent volume of renewable electricity generated from large-scale wind and hydro sources and exported onto the National Grid.
