First residents move into Highwood’s new all-social residential development in Chichester 

Highwood has finished work on a project to transform a former housing association office building into 37 new affordable homes in Chichester. The project to replace Downland Housing Association’s office was conducted in partnership with Clarion Housing Group, which acquired the building in 2016. 

The new scheme, named Wayland Gardens after a former Downland employee, is highly sustainable, creating spacious one, two and three-bedroom houses and apartments with photovoltaic solar panels and new green spaces. All 37 new homes have been designated exclusively for social rent for those in the local community.
