A new 70-bed care home built as part of the Island site in Beggarwood, Basingstoke

Highwood has been contracted to build a new 70-bed care home for Hamberley Developments, which will be leased to leading care operator, Care UK.

The care home forms part of the wider Island development site, which will include retirement apartments, a public house as well as a potential dental surgery and specialist brain injury unit serving will serve the existing and emerging community around Beggarwood.

A scheme that will serve the existing and emerging community surrounding Beggarwood

The wider scheme will centre on the luxurious care home for award-winning care home developer, Hamberley Development, the founder of award-winning care home company, Gracewell Healthcare. Elderly nursing home proposals will provide accommodation for residents who typically require continuous nursing care, often 24 hours a day.

The scheme includes stunning residential suites, extensive communal areas and beautifully landscaped grounds. Highwood has collaborated closely with all teams involved in the detailed development of the design in accordance with a tight design brief and a full interior design package.

The long-awaited plan for the Island site was given the green light for development by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council in 2018 and construction is scheduled for completion in Spring 2021.
