A successful competitive tender that will deliver a prestigious 68-bed care home in Hedge End village

Highwood is the principal contractor for a new-build scheme at Pavilion Road on the vast Botleigh Grange site in the Hampshire village of Hedge End. The project to deliver a high-end 68-bed care home to provide an array of specialist care for the elderly has been designed by W R Dunn architects and will be developed by Frontier Estates.

A collaborative care home project that will conclude in August 2020

Highwood successfully tendered for the project to construct the care home, which will be operated by Brighterkind in this, their first new-build development.

The two-storey care home will incorporate a brick and timber clad façade with large terraces on the first floor and two accommodation wings either side. The home has been designed to provide accommodation in excess of current Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements, offering a multitude of residential day spaces that include café, hairdressers, lounges, dining rooms, private dining and a cinema. The home will be registered to offer residential, nursing and dementia care.

With enabling works completed, construction for the new care home is underway on a 67-week programme that will conclude in August 2020.
