A prestigious new 55-bed care home will be constructed on the site of the former Abbas Combe Nursing Home

Highwood is building a new three-storey, 55-bedroom care home on the outskirts of Chichester, West Sussex, for luxury care home provider and long-term care partner, Cinnamon Care Collection.

The development will be constructed on the Wycke Road site of the former Abbas Combe Nursing Home that was built in 1962. In March 2021, the existing home and its associated buildings were demolished and work commenced on the prestigious new three-story care home complete with vast basement for care staff, plant and other facilities.

High quality care accommodation

The building will be set on a 0.25-hectare site bounded by the A27 to the south, Whyke Road to the west and residential buildings to the north and east. When complete, Cinnamon Care Collection’s luxurious new care home will provide outstanding residential care, associated communal facilities, residential gardens and ample parking.

‘We see this prominent site next to the A27 in Chichester as an excellent opportunity to build a modern purpose-built care home in this historic city,’ Kenneth MacKenzie, Development Director for Cinnamon has said. ‘We are looking forward to offering our future residents high quality care accommodation and this purchase further emphasises our commitment to the long-term care sector.”

Construction at Abbas Combe is scheduled for completion mid-2022.
