The fabulous 60-bedroom, purpose-built care home was the fourth project we have undertaken with joint venture care partner, Hartford Care, and which formed part of a dynamic Highwood masterplan that included 80 new homes, offices, a community building and convenience store. Abbottswood Court is a high-end care home designed to provide exemplary residential and dementia care, including permanent care, respite and day care services under one roof.

‘We’re proud that, thanks to our continued collaboration with Hartford Care, we’re helping to set new standards in care home development and also in the provision of care services,’ explained Nigel Meek, Director at Highwood. ‘Together we’re ensuring that residents are enjoying life to the full within a comfortable, secure environment in one of Hampshire’s most sought after towns. Highwood and Hartford have become synonymous with prestigious care home facilities where everyone and everything is taken care of so effectively.’

Representatives from Highwood and Hartford Care joined TV presenter, Fred Dinenage MBE, Romsey’s Mayor, Dorothy Baverstock, the Chairman of Romsey Extra Parish Council, Chris Wesson and people from the local community all attended the grand launch of Abbottswood Court. They were given a tour of the new care home, sampled a selection of delicious dishes cooked by its resident chef and enjoyed an afternoon of beautiful music played by harpist Audrey Finnemore.
