Highwood’s Sherecroft Farm project will be an exceptional development that will dramatically enhance this Hampshire village with a much-needed new bypass and a fabulous new care village that will create new jobs for the local community as well as high-end residential care for those in those in their later years.
The Botley by-pass has long been a matter of contention for local residents and the provision of a new route that will direct fast flowing traffic away from the village centre will come as welcome relief. Highwood will deliver a section of the new road as part of its plans for the wider Sherecroft Farm scheme.
In addition to the highways element, this project features a high-end ‘later years’ residential scheme that will represent our latest Hartwood Care development that we will retain. It will comprise a care home, assisted living apartments, a number of independent living bungalows and cottages and fabulous community facilities, including a spa, hairdressing salon, small cinema, shops and restaurants. The new care village will be set within beautifully landscaped grounds and built to Highwood’s exceptional standards of construction.
In line with all our high profile projects, we’ll be collaborating closely with local residents and councils – indeed one of the challenges in this case will be to work with both Winchester City Council and Eastleigh Borough Council as this parcel of land straddles both parties’ jurisdiction. We hope to submit outline plans in 2017 and will be holding public exhibitions to give local residents the opportunity to view our plans, ask questions and, of course, to give us feedback on our proposals. Dates for these events will be announced in the coming months.
