Nigel Shannon, Director
Nigel joined Highwood as a founding Director and Shareholder and assumed responsibility for overseeing the land and planning acquisition for the development programme of the group, his experience in planning gain and the promotion of strategic sites extending some 25 years.
Nigel Meek, Director
Nigel joined Highwood as a founding Director and Shareholder and assumed responsibility for the commercial management of the Group’s business activities, including financial management and asset disposal. Nigel’s experience extends to some 30 years in the commercial and residential property sector.
Malcolm Mintram, Director
Malcolm joined Highwood as a founding shareholder and director and assumed responsibility for the Group’s construction activities and provided planning and technical support for the company’s development programme. With over 35 years’ industry experience and with a proven track record of delivery, Malcolm also plays a key role in managing Highwood’s environmental and safety programme.
Paul Woodward, Finance Director
Paul is Finance Director of Highwood Construction, having joined Highwood Group in 2006 as Financial Controller before being appointed Finance Director in 2008 with a responsibility to oversee all financial aspects of the Group as well as Human Resources and IT activities. Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1999 before moving into industry in 2001 as a management accountant for a recruitment consultancy and later joining a venture capital-backed pub group from 2002-2006.
Simon Beech, Land and Sales Director
Joining Highwood in 2008, Simon’s role is responsible for securing new land opportunities across the south for sites ranging from care and/or retirement to large strategic sites while overseeing the sales of new homes with Highwood’s portfolio. His property interest began with the family’s development business before establishing a successful career in land within estate agency before joining Highwood.
Guy Hayward, Construction Managing Director
Guy has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry; his career in the sector began with John Laing in London before he joined his family business and took responsibility for operational delivery, later reaching the position of Group Operations Director. Guy joined the Highwood team as Managing Director of Highwood Construction after moving from Balfour Beatty where he spent 15 years developing the highly successful Mansell Homes housing brand, delivering over 3500 homes across the South, both in public and private sectors.
Steve Matthews, Construction Director
Steve joined Highwood Construction in 2004, heading up the organisation’s major social housing schemes before moving into retirement living and care home development having enjoyed a successful management career with Kier Partnership Homes since 1999. Steve was appointed Construction Director in 2014 with responsibility for operational activities, management of technical and commercial departments and the company’s Health and Safety and Environmental policy and support for the Financial and Managing Directors with regard to the business development programme.
