Guy Hayward, Managing Director
Guy has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry; his career in the sector began with John Laing in London before he joined his family business and took responsibility for operational delivery, later reaching the position of Group Operations Director. Guy joined the Highwood team as Managing Director of Highwood Construction after moving from Balfour Beatty where he spent 15 years developing the highly successful Mansell Homes housing brand, delivering over 3500 homes across the South, both in public and private sectors.
Steve Matthews, Director
Steve joined Highwood Construction in 2004, heading up the organisation’s major social housing schemes before moving into retirement living and care home development having enjoyed a successful management career with Kier Partnership Homes since 1999. Steve was appointed Construction Director in 2014 with responsibility for operational activities, management of technical and commercial departments and the company’s Health and Safety and Environmental policy and support for the Financial and Managing Directors with regard to the business development programme.
Paul Woodward, Finance Director
Paul is Finance Director of Highwood Construction, having joined Highwood Group in 2006 as Financial Controller before being appointed Finance Director in 2008 with a responsibility to oversee all financial aspects of the Group as well as Human Resources and IT activities. Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1999 before moving into industry in 2001 as a management accountant for a recruitment consultancy and later joining a venture capital-backed pub group from 2002-2006.
