For many years, the Old Manor Hospital on Salisbury’s Wilton Road, had been left in such a state of disrepair it was considered a disgrace to the city, having been boarded up and left to decay. Some of the previously magnificent buildings on the site had been listed, but many were considered not special enough to be formally listed by English Heritage, especially given the encroaching 20th century development.
The area to the south of Wilton Road was finally sold to our development partner, Gracewell Healthcare, in 2010 by Wiltshire Primary Care Trust and our work began to redevelop the site soon afterwards.
Today, the Salisbury Manor Care Home is a beautiful 63-bed care home that sits within three acres of delightful landscaped gardens with mature trees and has everything that a discerning resident requires to enjoy a peaceful and very comfortable lifestyle.
The building, which lies within the Salisbury conservation area, has been designed to reflect both the classic features of Llangarren House, an original building that has been retained within the wider development and the stunning, nearby Georgian properties.
Salisbury Manor has been developed to provide specialist nursing care and facilities that range from a luxury treatment spa, a well-equipped library and computer station, a café with an exceptionally indulgent menu to tempt visitors and superior suites with en-suite facilities and stylish interiors.
