One of our most complex projects to date, the plan to construct 326 homes took almost five years of planning promotion through Fareham Borough Council; the site perfectly illustrates our success through effective, strategic planning promotion.
The land concerned extends to some 70 acres and comprised an assembly of multiple landowners, the majority of whose back gardens were included within the scheme.
The total planning consent for 326 dwellings was finally granted in 2000, when Highwood began work on the construction of 130 affordable houses and apartments in a stunning New England style for First Wessex, which manages around 18,000 affordable homes in Hampshire.
This development forms part of the urban regeneration zone and incorporated extensive ecological protection works, responsibly sourced building materials, compliance with Code Level 3 and use of solar panels for hot water. We are now working in conjunction with the Persimmon Group who will be delivering further open market homes on the Hunts Pond Road site.
